mooring flaps

A working platform for the crew when the yacht comes alongside

the product

a flush plate that becomes a platform

Handling lines on a high hull side is awkward and unsafe. A mooring flap opens outward from the hull and gives the deck crew a railed platform at the right height to take lines, fit fenders and talk to the pier. Closed, it is a flush plate in the hull.

OMS makes mooring flaps from high-quality stainless steel or high-strength alloy, with frame, hydraulics and railing as one module. Every flap undergoes testing and quality control before delivery; size and position follow the mooring arrangement of the vessel.

application

mooring flaps for a cruise ship

The same principle at a different scale: for a cruise ship, OMS built mooring flaps for the hull sides. Larger openings, heavier structure, the same approach – one module per flap, frame included, delivered ready to weld in.
